FAMILY PARTNERSHIP STATEMENT

This statement is a clarification of the type of educational service Covenant Classical Community School offers and the target audience for whom the educational service is intended.

Recognizing parents to be responsible for the education of their children, Covenant Classical Community School forms a partnership with the home and family. Within the context of this partnership, we seek to educate students and to guide them in the development of a biblical worldview, biblical character, and a biblical lifestyle. The Bible is the document Covenant Classical Community School uses to determine what qualities or characteristics portray a biblical worldview, character, and lifestyle.

Based on these three fundamental principles, our education program has the following seven specific objectives:

A. To teach the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments in such a way that the students realize that the meaning and purpose of life are found in them, and that they speak authoritatively in every area of life.

B. To prepare each child academically by making available a challenging, balanced curriculum covering the full range of academic disciplines appropriate for his age and abilities.

C. To teach both the underlying concepts of each subject area and the basic facts and skills needed to apply these concepts correctly.

D. To teach effective study habits and self-disciplines, and to instill a conviction that learning is a lifetime endeavor.

E. To encourage proper respect for authority and the practice of good manners.

F. To encourage parents to be fully involved in their children’s education.

G. To make a high-quality, Christian education available to parents who want it for their children. The school admits students of any financial status, race, color, national or ethnic origin.

CCCS reserves the right to decline admission or to discontinue enrollment of a student if the atmosphere or conduct within a particular home/family or the activities of the student do not support or are in opposition to the Statement of Faith and the Covenant Classical Community School Family Partnership Statement.

Parent Covenant

I/We, _________________________________, as a parent(s) of a student at Covenant Classical Community School, hereby agree to the following covenant, which is derived from the Word of God, the school’s statement of faith, and the desire to help my student succeed, to the best of his/her God-given ability, for his/her good and to the glory of God. I acknowledge that the primary responsibility for education rests not on the school, but on the parents to whom children are entrusted by God. Covenant Classical Community School has covenanted to assume the responsibility of the primary instruction of math, English language arts, science, and history; but I recognize that this is a hybrid school; therefore, I as a parent at Covenant Classical Community School, covenant:

●      To work to equip the next generation with the truth of God’s Word through all subjects so that they might serve faithfully in His Kingdom to the glory of God.

 ●      To faithfully check my student’s backpack and homework folder every night to ensure that my student is well prepared for every day of school.

 ●      To take seriously the various struggles identified by my student’s teacher and work diligently at home to help reinforce all that is being taught at school -- academically and/or behaviorally.

●      To regularly set aside time every weekday to provide support as appropriate for my child(s) grade level.

o   Grades K4-2nd; phonogram recognition, math facts, spelling, reading, etc; 30 minutes daily

o   Grades 3rd-4th; reinforcement of foundational skills in math/reading, supervise homework, assisting when necessary; 30-60 minutes daily

o   Grades 5th-6th; supervise homework, assisting when necessary; 60-90 minutes daily

o   Grades 7th-12th; supervise homework and needed preparation for the next day’s classes; 1-3 hours daily

 ●      To support my student by regularly helping them with their organization and equipping them with various study skills that are appropriate to his/her particular needs.

 ●      To work towards the building of the larger school community by volunteering my time (when able), checking my email at least daily, participating in all school activities (when able), and supporting my student’s teacher with classroom management issues.
