April McReynolds (Kindergarten 4) is a 2002 graduate of The University Of Alaska Fairbanks with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work. Though her professional path has been largely in the field of social work, last year Mrs. McReynolds sensed God calling her to work with children, proactively equipping the next generation to love God. She comes from a Military family and has moved 14 times! She has been married 21 years to her High School sweet heart, Michael, who has faithfully served for 24 years in the United States Army. They have a four year old "fur baby" named Manchester. One of her favorite quotes comes from Neil Postman: “Children are the living message we send to a time we will not see.” She is excited to partner with parents and CCCS to love, guide, and pray for this next generation of leaders.

Cathy Ulsh (Kindergarten 5) is a Hampton native and graduate from Old Dominion University with a B.S. in Human Services Counseling and M.S.ED in Early Childhood Education. She spent six years teaching Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade with Hampton Public Schools. She left the classroom in 2013 to become a stay at home mother. She is married to Jared and they have three sweet children, Lincoln, Waylon and Juliette, all who attend CCCS. After 8 years at home, she is excited for this new season and the opportunity to share the wonder of God's World with young ones. The Ulsh family live in Carrollton and are members of Liberty Live at Smithfield. "One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts." Ps. 145:4

Audri Williams (First Grade) graduated from Liberty University with a bachelor's degree in religion. She began her teaching career in third grade at an international school in Thailand, and has also taught fourth grade. She is excited to continue her journey in elementary teaching first grade at CCCS. Audri has a desire to teach students through the lens of God's Word, and to help them see the majesty of God's creation in all things. She and her husband, Geoff, have been married for thirteen years and together have two boys, who both attend CCCS. Their family joyfully attends Deer Park Fellowship.

Emily Crosby (Second Grade) graduated with a bachelors degree in education from Liberty University in 2010. Since then, she has taught preschool, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade as well as some substitute teaching. Emily has been married to her high school sweetheart, Duane, for 21 years, and they have 5 children together. Their youngest two, twins, attend CCCS. Their family attends Lifepointe Christian Church in Toano, VA.

Katie Emborski (Third Grade) graduated from Christopher Newport University with a bachelor's degree in Sociology. Prior to joining the CCCS faculty, she taught in a variety of settings, mostly extracurricular, for many years before she began working as a special education assistant in Newport News Public Schools. In 2007, Katie married Mark (her co-conspirator in adventure) and helped plant By Grace Community Church in Yorktown, where they still attend and serve with their family. They have three boys, previously homeschooled, all attending CCCS. She loves finding creative ways to help kids master skills that are particularly challenging for that child. Katie also loves telling stories of her own adventures to help others understand and trust God in each day of their lives. And if you have a minute, she’ll tell you amazing stories of her adventures!

Sara Winant (6th) For as long as she can remember, Sara has wanted to be a teacher, and God’s faithfulness has been continually present before her as she begins her tenth year of teaching! She met her husband, Matt, at CNU, where they both earned their undergraduate and Masters in Teaching degrees. They have two beautiful sons, Joshua and Caleb, who keep them on their toes! Joshua will be a student for the first time at CCCS this year! They attend By Grace Community Church, where Matt is a deacon and Sara serves in several capacities.

Stacy DeHoust (Eighth Grade Humanities) is a graduate of Mary Washington College with a BA in Psychology, and has been married to her husband, Matt, for 28 years. They have four sons and one lovely daughter-in-law. Stacy’s teaching experience began in 1988 in the dance studio. For 14 years, in studios across Virginia, she taught several styles of dance to students of all ages until her family moved to Hampton Roads in 2002. Her unanticipated homeschooling adventure began in 2004, and after fifteen years teaching from home and for a variety of homeschool co-ops and adjunct programs, she has the great joy and privilege of teaching fourth grade at CCCS.

Windsor Philipps (7th/8th Math) Graduated from Montana Tech in 1985 with an BS in engineering. She began working at Newport News Shipbuilding as an engineer building aircraft carriers. Windsor married Steven in 1985 and together they raised 4 children, 2 goats, trained 3 horses, hatched an array of chickens, became overrun by a hoard of  bunnies, acquired a few fish, and provided a home for their children's dogs, cats and bird. She has 4 grandchildren and 2 of them attend CCCS along with their many cousins. Her family has hosted international students for 10 years. Windsor is a third generation Peninsula resident and attends New Covenant Church. She loves to study God’s marvelous creation with young people and inspire them to enjoy mathematics.

Kathryn Stafford (7th Humanities) received a BA in History and Secondary Education from the University of Northern Colorado in 2007. Before joining CCCS Kathryn homeschooled her three children and they all enjoyed their time with Classical Conversations. Kathryn loves learning right alongside her students and seeing how God weaves and connects everything into His story. She and her husband, Matt, have been married for 14 years. The Stafford family is very excited to be a part of CCCS.

Shanna Slovinsky (10th Humanities) received a BA in History in 2001. She married her college sweetheart, Marty, and they now have four kids, three of whom attend CCCS. They are a military family, so she’s particularly empathetic to new students! Shanna loves to read biographies, drink Dr. Pepper, eat Chick-fil-A, and watch The West Wing. She does not love coffee, licorice, and the sound of gum being chewed.

Pamela Freeman (Biology, Chemistry, Geometry, Trigonometry) has a B.S. in Biology from William and Mary (1983) and an M.S. in Forensic Science (1988) from Virginia Commonwealth University. She taught in both public and private schools before spending seven years working as a forensic scientist in Rhode Island and for the Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory.
