Christie davidson School director

Christie holds a Masters of Science in Education with a concentration in Special Education. She has a passion for Christian Education and desires to see it made affordable and available to all families. Having struggled through elementary school herself with undiagnosed dyslexia, she is passionate about seeing all students made in the image of God have access to Classical Christian Education. She is a mom of four and a wife to Ryan, the Pastor of Grace Baptist Chapel, a Reformed Baptist Church, where they have served for almost 17 years. She serves as the School Director overseeing the day to day operations of CCCS. If she’s not in the school office, you can find her teaching in the Upper School: Informal Logic, Debate, and History of Philosophy! Outside of school, she loves to bake and to share her treats with everyone!


Katie Carroll Director’s Assistant

Katie has a B.A. in English from Christopher Newport University. Before coming to CCCS she worked at Liberty Live Church for thirteen years as an administrative assistant. When she became a stay-at-home mom she vowed to never work outside the home again, but the Lord opened up this opportunity to use her gifts and she loves it. She and Malvin have been married for over 18 years and share a 12-year-old son. They love traveling (particularly to Disney World), trying new restaurants, and playing games. Katie is a staunch supporter of the Sunday afternoon nap. Her family worships and serves at Liberty Live Church.

LAuren mingee Director of instruction

Lauren has a B.S. in Business Administration from Christoper Newport University. Lauren has taught a variety of grades from K4-1st over the last 10 years. She and her husband, Jeff, met while coaching swim team and have been blissfully married for 19 years. They have two sons, the eldest is entering his first year at West Point and the youngest is at CCCS. Lauren enjoys spending time with her family at the beach and talking long walks on local trails. As the only female in her house, she has a passion for the education of little boys and their boundless energy. Lauren and her family worship and serve at Bethel Baptist Church in Yorktown.

Board Of Directors


Michael Machie (Board Chair) 
is a civil engineer with 15 years of design and management experience working with consulting engineering firms. He and his wife Erin have four daughters and are members of Liberty Live Church where they serve in children's ministry and lead a small group for married couples. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering. In his spare time he loves spending time with his family, golfing, playing soccer, and running.

Malvin Carroll (Treasurer) is a management consultant with over 20 years of program and business management experience. He assists management of the organization’s leadership make decisions and transform operations through development of budgets, program financial management and reporting, application of decision analytics, and process re-engineering. He holds a Master of Business Administration, Master’s Certificate in Decision Analytics, and a Bachelor’s of Science with concentrations in Account and Management. His focus is providing oversight of the financial operations of the school. Malvin is an avid griller and loves to spend weekend afternoons smoking meat. He, his lovely wife, and son are active, serving members of Liberty Live Church.

Audrey Hammond is a wife and mother of 4 children, and is a member of Poquoson Baptist Church. She has worked in Christian Higher Education at Liberty University for 15 years, specializing in International Education for the past 10 years. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Global Studies from LU, and is working to acquire an M.Ed. in History. She is a Certified Travel Agent (CTA), and a Certified Travel Industry Executive (CTIE), and serves in the Virginia International Educators Association. She is passionate about creating Christ-centered opportunities for students to learn to share and live out their faith in an international context. In her free time she enjoys reading, boating with her family, playing tennis, and spending time with her church family. 

Taylor Ethridge has been in the insurance and financial services industry since 2008. He works with clients to provide strategic planning as they pursue their personal financial goals and mitigate the associated risks. As a small business owner, he understands the needs and challenges of local business owners and partners with them to review their commercial risk and provide financial resources. Taylor graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Finance from Liberty University, where he met his wife Meagan. They have two children, Colton and Kate. As members of Liberty Live Church, they serve on the Safety Team and in children’s ministry. In their free time, they love being outdoors as a family and watching football games.

Linda Sawanowich is a former teacher and Director of Instruction at both CCCS (2019-2023) and the former Calvary Classical School in Hampton (1995-2019). She currently resides in Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, as a family caregiver. Forever a teacher, she enjoys coaching students one-on-one via Zoom. She and her husband, Joe, are active members of Second City Church (PCA) in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Linda delights in the truth, goodness, and beauty espoused in classical Christian education and its emphasis on Biblical integration and seeks to serve the school in strengthening its mission. When she is not attending to family, her interests include reading, gardening, and  fostering rambunctious kittens who remind her so much of her beloved former kindergartners.

Bobby Scott has worked in the maritime industry handling global logistics since 1998 and has held various roles focusing on operations, process improvement, strategic planning, and business development. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from The College of William & Mary and holds certifications in Leadership Development, Project Management Professional, and Lean Six Sigma. He and his wife, Shelby, attend Liberty Live Church and serve in the student program. They have two children, Will and Ava, who both attend CCCS. In their free time, they love to travel and do anything outdoors.
